South Korean pianist Victor Lim is an active soloist, chamber musician and song accompanist. He has appeared in several major venues in the UK such as the Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Colston Hall and St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and his performances have been broadcasted on BBC Radio 3. In 2012, Victor made his first public appearance as a Category Finalist in the televised BBC Young Musician of the Year. Recent successes include second prize from the Intercollegiate Beethoven Competition, first prizes from RNCM Schubert and Beethoven competitions as well as awards from Help Musicians UK and the Countess of Munster Musical Trust. 

Since starting to learn to play the piano at the age of six, Victor he trained at Wells Cathedral School with John Byrne and Richard Ormrod then at the Royal Northern College of Music with Graham Scott, Jeremy Young and Murray McLachlan where he received the prestigious ABRSM scholarship. He also recently completed the Professional Diploma in piano accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Michael Dussek where he graduated with both a Dip.RAM and the Christian Carpenter Prize for achieving the highest mark in a final recital. From September 2018, Victor has been studying at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo under the tutelage of Kathryn Stott where he is the only pianist on its selective Artist Diploma programme.

 As an avid chamber musician, Victor is a founding member of the Louko Piano Trio who were the winners of the Hirsch, Nossek and Christopher Rowland Ensemble of the Year Prizes at the RNCM. In 2015 the Trio took the first prize in the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Chamber Music Competition in London for their ‘uniquely involving’ performance. He also won the RNCM Piano Duo Prize with pianist Ryan Drucker with whom they played the complete piano duo works by Maurice Ravel for the 2016 Ludlow Music Festival.

 Victor is a Leverhulme Fellow of Pro Corda, the largest chamber music education organisation in the UK and was also the co-ordinator of the classical music course at the Millfield Summer School for several years.
